Orthodoxy

The One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Orthodox Church (hereinafter referred to as the Orthodox Church) is that original and authentic New Testament Church, which was founded by Jesus Christ himself and His apostles.

The Son of God, Jesus Christ, eternally, before the creation of the world, was born by God, by the action of the Holy Spirit two thousand years ago, was born from the Virgin Mary – the Most Holy Theotokos – for the salvation of the human race. Jesus Christ is called the Savior because He saves every Christian who believes in Him from spiritual death and slavery to sin. The incarnate Lord – fully God and fully Man – being sinless, voluntarily died on the cross to cleanse our sins and resurrected to give us eternal life.

The path of the Christian life is thorny and difficult. “Enter through the narrow gate,” says the Lord (Matt. 7:13), for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many go through it; for narrow is the gate and narrow is the way that leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

The Orthodox catechism is instruction in the Orthodox Christian faith, taught to every Christian for the pleasing of God and the salvation of the soul.
